Private apartment • Residential • New Zealand
A calm residential interior designed for everyday living. The project focuses on spatial clarity, soft material contrast, and decisions that remain comfortable over time.
The client wanted an interior that felt calm and resolved without looking staged. The apartment needed to work equally well during quiet evenings and busy mornings, with clear circulation and practical storage.
Rather than decorating room by room, the project was approached as a single system — layout, materials, lighting, and furniture working together.
Every choice was tested against daily use, natural light, and long-term comfort.
Furniture was positioned to protect circulation paths and maintain openness, especially between living, dining, and kitchen zones.
A limited palette of timber, textured fabrics, and muted finishes keeps the interior calm while allowing subtle contrast.
Ambient, task, and accent lighting were combined to support both functional tasks and evening atmosphere.
The finished apartment feels settled rather than styled. Storage is intuitive, circulation is clear, and materials respond well to New Zealand’s changing daylight.
The interior allows future changes without losing coherence — a system rather than a fixed look.
